I would like to see the empathy and solidarity that exists on the dance floor on the street. Homelessness is dehumanizing, which is why it is so important that we put the accommodation of people first. Everyone has the right to a safe home. Equal treatment is so important; the feeling that you are okay and deserve a place in this society is a basic need.

I try to be actively aware of what I have, rather than what I don’t have, and I try to give back where I can by volunteering or donating money. In today’s society, it is too much of ‘every man for himself, and the differences are enormous. There is little empathy and respect, and no mutual feeling or purpose. Everyone is just fighting against each other, or sitting on their own island.

I look forward to working as a resident DJ for Homebass, the option to dance should be available for everyone. No one should be left out by certain choices or setbacks. During the shoot day for the Homebass film and photos, I got to meet the ambassadors, and that was a really nice day. To notice that the homeless also felt at home there. Coming together as equals, I think that’s very important.
